“What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” is the
motivational theme running through the positive message of motivational speaker
Conway Stone. With enthusiasm, lots of energy and a folksy straightforward style
Conway challenges, informs and entertains his audiences.
Whether it is a strategic planning sessions with a board
of directors or speaking in front of 5,000 sales people in a coliseum in
Cincinnati Conway’s message is the same…“You are more powerful than you think
you are” and “Your dreams, no matter what they are, can come true.”
Conway’s message has not come easily, born in Paragould Arkansas to a traveling salesman
turned Baptist Preacher father and a stay at home mom Conway grew up in
Arkansas, Kentucky and Ohio. Leaving home at age 18 Conway set 3 dreams for his
years at college. He wanted to earned a college degree in psychology, travel to
overseas and find a southern girl to marry.
5 years later, Conway graduated with 2 college degrees one in Psychology
and one in Religion. He had lived one year in Nigeria, Africa and traveled to 7
countries in Europe. Although marriage would elude him for a few years, Conway
did learn two great lessons about dreaming. 1. “If you set big dreams often
times you can exceed them. And 2 when a dream such as marriage does not happen
on your time line that does not mean the dream will not come true.
In pursuit of his own dreams Conway has lived and taught in Nigeria, Africa; Tokyo, Japan and
St. Petersburg, Russia. He has written two books “Follow Your Dreams” and
“Dream High”. Along with his “Dream High Action book” his books have been
translated into 7 languages and sold over 60,000 books.
At the young age of 41 Conway has acquire $1,000,000 worth of real estate including his
dream nature preserve which contains 205 acres and a 50 acre lake.
But as Conway is quick to point out a person will never be satisfied or complete until they
take time to help another person. Here again Conway is living his message.
Having desired for many years to help people through endowments and
philanthropy, Conway in 1998 form a small group called the Hero’s club. The
Hero’s club is 10 people who twice a year put $200 on the table. One person’s
donation of $200 is not enough to do much but when joined with 10 other people
the resulting $2,000 is enough to make a difference. Since its beginning the
Hero’s club has outfitted a computer lab for a low income housing project that
is teaching job skills in four languages. It has helped a Mennonite couple open
a restaurant that provides job skills and income for 25 orphans and adopted
children. The hero’s club has started and supported an eye glass for the
homeless project. But the biggest project is the Hero’s club involvement with
Habitat for Humanity. The Hero’s club gave the first $2,000 toward the building of a Habitat for Humanity house. They
reached out to 10 churches to build the first house in 1998. In the last 5
years those churches have built 8 houses and on their way to their goal of
building 10 houses.
Conway’s future is very very bright. His dreams include a $2,000,000 net worth, $250,000
a year in income, leaving 3 one million dollar endowments for his favorite
charities and one day teaching at small Christian college. If I were you I
would not bet against this professional speaker, author and dreamer.
